If you are a Facebook user and you have friends added in your friends list it is quite obvious and expected that they might tag you in the posts that they feel you might be interested in so that you can share your views about the topic and expand your social network at the same time. Whenever you are tagged on a post you receive a notification which is flashed on Facebook webpage and simultaneously you receive a notification e-mail which is sent to the e-mail account associated with your Facebook account. These e-mail notifications are sent from Facebook in order to inform the users even if they are not logged on to their Facebook accounts and in many cases these e-mails are kept for documentations and records. However in some cases users may not want the e-mail notifications as they may overpopulate their inboxes and if as a Facebook user you want to disable this feature you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account by providing appropriate credentials.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of Facebook webpage.

  3. From the appeared list click on Account Settings.

  4. From the left pane on the opened page click on Notifications category.

  5. From the right pane click on Facebook option available under All Notificationssection.

  6. From the expanded list uncheck the checkbox in front of Tags you in a post and click on Save Changes button to save the changes.
