Disable Facebook Notifications when Commented on Places You Checked-in

Facebook as a social networking site also allows users to mention the places where they have checked-in so that all their friends may come to know about the location at which the users can be found at a specific time. Whenever as a Facebook user you mentioned a place that you have visited and you have checked-in it is displayed on your wall and if you have configured the privacy of your account so that the Places that you visit can be displayed to all your friends they are also allowed comment on the mentioned Places. Whenever any of your friend comments on any place where you have checked-in immediately you receive a notification that is flashed on the webpage and simultaneously a corresponding e-mail is also sent to the associated e-mail account. As a home user of Facebook you might not want to receive e-mail notifications as they might not be necessary and if you want you can disable this feature by following the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of the page.

  3. From the opened page in the left pane click on Notifications option.

  4. From the right pane under All Notifications category click on Placesoption.

  5. From the expanded list uncheck the checkbox in front of Comments on one of your check-ins option and click on Save Changes button to save the changes.
