Restrict Facebook Account from Being Searched

Keeping users’ security in mind Facebook offers several unique features to ensure the privacy and secrecy of its account holders. One unique feature that is only offered by Facebook itself is that users can hide their profiles from being searched by any user. This means that as we all know that in Facebook users can be searched by names and once the name of the user is searched list of all the users with the same name is displayed in front of the searcher. However if the security and privacy of Facebook is configured properly an account holder can hide his profile from being searched by any other Facebook account user. As a Facebook account holder if you want to configure this you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Facebook account by providing appropriate credentials.

  2. Click on down facing triangle at the top right corner of the page and from the available list click on Privacy Settings.

  3. On the Privacy Settings page click on Edit Settings link in front of How You Connect category.

  4. On the opened box click on the drop-down list in front of **Who can look up your profile by name of the contact info?**option.

  5. From the available options choose the appropriate one as desired and finally click on Done button at the bottom right corner of the box.
