Win $500 With CloudCanvas!

Sometimes, I feel like I’m tired of so many image editors and viewers. I’ve seen a lot of them, but every time I think that’s more than enough, I discover something new and interesting enough to keep me going. If it also comes with a chance to win 500 bucks, that’s even better!

According to its creators, CloudCanvas is more than just another Web-based image editor, and I think that calling it a “creative suite” isn’t that far from reality. Sure, it doesn’t match the advanced features Adobe’s Photoshop has, but it has most of the good stuff for the beginners and average users (layers included!) who just want to have some fun and get some work done somewhere where they don’t have access to that Creative Suite behemoth…

CloudCanvas offers a bunch of goodies I wasn’t expecting, such as Deviant Art and Google integration (you can save your Google Docs account to store your work or export the image on your computer as a PNG file), a font store, a few nice brushes (only a few, unfortunately, but I hope there will be much more in the future), but the most interesting part is this: “To kick off the launch of CloudCanvas, we’re inviting everyone on the internet with any creative skill whatsoever to come on over and give our application a test drive. The top 3 designs/artwork will each win $500 in cash. Submit entries by Sept 12.”

Unfortunately, I’m not that much of a graphics artist, so even if I’ll enter the competition, I won’t ruin anyone’s chances to win. So… are you in, or not? Oh, well, good luck to you, no matter what you choose to do! ;)
