Change the Windows 7 Taskbar to Work like Vista

Default nature of taskbar in Windows 7 is that it combines all the similar Windows in a group which allows users to switch between them easily. This feature is introduced with the release of Microsoft Windows 7 and is unique to the operating system and the entire world of Microsoft windows. Since the feature was integrated in Windows to help out users switching between windows in an easy way users are becoming more familiar while utilizing this. However there are still majority of people who feel themselves comfortable with the taskbar that was introduced in Windows Vista. Nature of Windows Vista taskbar was that it only used to group the opened applications when the entire taskbar was populated. This nature of taskbar in the Vista can also be configured in Windows 7 if users are more experienced and comfortable with it. As a Windows 7 user if you want to make the taskbar work like Windows Vista you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with any user account on which you want to configure this.

  2. Right click on the taskbar and from the available menu click on Properties.

  3. On Taskbar and Start Menu Properties box make sure that you are on Taskbar tab and on Taskbar buttons drop-down list choose Combine when taskbar is fulloption.

  4. Once done click on Ok to save the changes that you have made.
