E-mails nowadays are considered as major media of communication and are also useful in keeping the records of every communication that took place between two parties. Keeping this in mind Facebook sends all the e-mail notifications to the e-mail account associated with a Facebook user profile. Although the notifications are also flashed on the Facebook website but e-mails are still sent in order to have the record of all the notifications. Same is the case with e-mail notifications which are sent to the e-mail accounts whenever a user receives a request to list another Facebook user as family member. In many cases keeping the notifications of adding family members in inboxes can be a proof for records however in some cases users may not want these e-male notifications in their inboxes. Therefore if as a Facebook user you want to disable this feature you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account by providing appropriate credentials.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of the webpage.

  3. From the list click on Account Settings option.

  4. On the opened page click on Notifications from the left pane and from the right pane under All Notifications section click on Facebookoption.

  5. From the available list uncheck the checkbox in front of Asks to list you as family option and click on Save Changes button to save the changes.
