Since Facebook is associated with an e-mail account which users normally use for their daily tasks it can sometimes be overpopulated with the notifications which are sent from Facebook. The fact cannot be denied that some notifications are quite important so that users can come to know about the activities which took place whereas there are some notifications which are not at all necessary. An example for an unnecessary notification is the notification which is sent through e-mail when any Facebook user receives a message from another account holder. It is expected that whenever any user uses his Facebook account he will receive messages from his friends and relatives and with all the notifications sent to his e-mail account his e-mail account may get overpopulated with them. Therefore users can disable this feature so that they may not receive any e-mail notification whenever a message is received in their Facebook accounts and as a Facebook account holder if you want to configure this you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of the page.

  3. From the list click on Account Settings.

  4. From the opened page in the left pane click on Notifications.

  5. From the right pane click on Facebook option under All Notifications category.

  6. From the expanded list uncheck the checkbox available in front of Sends you a messageoption.

  7. To save the changes click on Save Changes button.
