Disable Yahoo! Messenger LUNCHcaste Radio Status in Windows 7

Since Yahoo! Messenger chat application is quite versatile software in many cases it also is capable of changing online status automatically. Since Yahoo! Messenger also provides a built in radio named as LAUNCHcast Radio it can be played so that users can enjoy music online. When LAUNCHcast Radio is used by Yahoo! Messenger chat user by default the application automatically changes online status so that other users on the Messenger list can be notified about the current activity of the user. In many cases however users may not want Yahoo! Messenger to automatically change the online status for various reasons. As Yahoo! Messenger user in Windows 7 if you want to disable this feature you are required to follow the steps given as below:

  1. Logon to Yahoo! Messenger chat application by providing appropriate credentials in its interface.

  2. Once logged on click on Messenger menu and then go to Preferences option.

  3. On the opened box in the left pane click on Privacy category.

  4. From the right pane under Change my status automatically when I am section uncheck Listening to LAUNCHcast Radio in Messenger.

  5. Finally click on Ok button once you are done with the configuration and restart the application to allow the changes to take effect.
