Every employee who works in an office sometime needs to hide few things from his employer. For example in many offices employees are not allowed to listen to music and if employees want to do so they need to hide their devices from their bosses. Yahoo! Messenger also allows users to listen music with the help of feature named Yahoo! Music which is integrated in the application. In production environments when this feature in Yahoo! Messenger is used the online status of users is automatically changed and by default it starts displaying the name of the artist and title of song. This default configuration can sometimes cause disaster for the employees and therefore Yahoo! Messenger allows users to disable this automatic modification in the status. As a Yahoo! Messenger user in Windows 7 if you want to do so you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Yahoo! Messenger application by providing correct credentials.

  2. Click on Messenger menu and then go to Preferences option.

  3. In the left pane of the opened box click on Yahoo! Music category.

  4. From the right pane click on Do not change my status radio button to leave the online status of the Yahoo! Messenger intact even if a user is listing Yahoo! Music.

  5. Click on Ok button when you are done with the configuration.
