In Windows 7 whenever any application which connects to the Internet or local area network is installed a firewall exception is automatically created in Windows Firewall. This allows administrators to manage the operating system in a simple manner as compared to the older ones. Automatic creation of firewall exception greatly reduces the administrative overhead while maintaining the efficiency of the application and Windows 7 as well. Same is the case with BitComet torrent application which when installed automatically creates a firewall exception in Windows 7 operating system like any other application does. This default configuration can still be modified because of several security reasons and as a BitComet user in Windows 7 if you want to disable the creation of firewall exception in Windows Firewall when the application is started you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to the computer on which Windows 7 and BitComet torrent application is installed.

  2. Open interface of the application by double-clicking on its icon available on the desktop.

  3. Click on Tools menu and from the appeared list of options click on Option.

  4. On the Options box from the left pane make sure that Connection option is selected.

  5. From the right pane under Port Mapping section uncheck Add Windows Firewallexception checkbox.

  6. Click on Ok button to save the configuration.
