When Windows 7 is installed on a computer system Internet Explorer is also installed along with it. In case everything is left as default Internet Explorer can be used to download any file that is available on the Internet and Internet Explorer provides its own downloading tool to serve the purpose. However when BitComet application is installed on the very same computer it tightly integrates itself with  Windows 7 and also it integrates itself with Internet Explorer which is the default web browser in the operating system. This allows Internet Explorer to download any file from the Internet using BitComet application so that the download process can become ‘Resume Supported’. Under normal circumstances this configuration is quite helpful for all types of users but in many cases users may not want this configuration to be left intact because of many security reasons. When this is the case they can disable this feature and as a Windows 7 user who uses BitComet as torrent client application if they want to do so they can follow the steps provided below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer on which BitComet torrent application is installed and double-click on its icon available on the desktop to initiate it.

  2. Click on Tools menu and from the available list of options click on Options.

  3. On the opened box from the left pane click on Integration and from the right pane under IE Integration category and check Always become the default download tool for IE on startupcheckbox.

  4. Finally click on Ok button to save the changes.
