Many people don't know that you can assign multiple IP address to a single LAN card. This feature allows you to connect to multiple networks using single NIC however at the cost of chances of bottlenecks. This means that if your LAN card will have multiple IP address it will receive more data packets thus facing congestion while transferring or receiving. This type of setup can still be useful in small scenarios where there are separate network segments but the total scale of network is not large. In order to provide multiple IP address to a single LAN card you need to follow the below steps:

  1. Click on Start button.
  2. At the bottom of the menu in the search box type ncpa.cpl and press enter key.
  3. On Network Connections page right click on the NIC on which you want to assign multiple IP addresses and click on Properties.
  4. In the Local Area Properties box from the list select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties button.
  5. On Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) Properties page click on Advanced button.
  6. In Advance TCP/IP Settings page ensure that you are on the IP Settings tab and click on Add button.
  7. On TCP/IP Address page type the IP address and its subnet mask and click on Add button.
  8. Click on Ok button on all windows to accept and confirm your selections. Alternatively you can repeat Steps 6 and 7 every time you need to assign IP address to the NIC.
