While releasing Windows 7 in the market it seems that Microsoft had only one thing in mind as how to provide the best and the easiest way of operating Windows. Another step which Microsoft took in this regard is to ease the functionality of placing the Windows on the desktop. In legacy operating systems placing opened and active Windows on the desktop was not quite easy and users needed to adjust the size of each window manually in order to place it on the desktop so that they can be viewed easily. However in Windows 7 this arrangement can be done by pressing just two keys simultaneously. No elevated privileges are required in this regard and even standard users can use the process to organize active Windows on their desktops. As such user if you want to do so you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with any user account.

  2. Open one Windows Explorer window.

  3. Keeping that window active press Windows key + Right Arrow key to place window at the right corner of the desktop covering half of the screen.

  4. Optionally you can also open another Windows Explorer window and while keeping the new opened window active you can press Windows key + Left Arrow keyto place the new window in the left side of the desktop covering the remaining half of the desktop screen.
