Move an Object in Windows Server 2008 Domain Controller

In any network scenario administrators keep on changing the locations of the objects in order to make the manageability easier. Moreover many times administrators would also want to change the location of any object in order to make a specific set of group policies applicable to that object. Like other actions in Windows server 2008 any object can be moved through command line interface however for new administrators graphical user interface might be a better solution as they can complete the tasks in quite easy manner in this way. Moving an object in Windows server 2008 is an easy process but sometimes it might be challenging for administrators to determine as which object should be moved where to best suit the requirements of the organization. Whatsoever the case is as an administrator of Windows server 2008 domain controller if you want to move any object from one place to another you are required to follow the steps given below:

1.       Make sure that you are logged on to Windows server 2008 with domain admin credentials.

2.       At the bottom of start menu in search box type DSA.MSC command and press enter key to open Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.

3.       Locate and right click on the object that you want to move and from the available menu click on Move.

4.       On the opened box browse for the container or organizational unit where you want to move the object and click on Ok button to complete the task.
