Open Files/Folders with a Single Click in Windows 7

When Windows 7 is installed it offers the optimum configurations and settings so that users can easily get familiar and comfortable with the operating system. Also Windows 7 is by default configured to consume least CPU and memory while providing full features to the users at the same time. These default configurations can always be modified according to the user's requirements and modifications which can affect in both performance and experience wise. This means that users can configure their Windows 7 computers to provide better user experiences by giving enhanced graphics or they can also configure them to consume even less processing and memory and offer enhanced speed. Same is the case with configuring the way of opening and selecting any object (files or folders) which by default is set to click and double-click for selecting and opening respectively. To make the Windows interface more comfortable users can configure the mouse rollover on any object to select and single click to open it. This configuration is user specific and therefore every user can modify the settings as per the requirements and comforts. As a Windows 7 user if you want to configure this you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with any account on which you want to configure the settings.

  2. From the start menu click on Computer option and on the Windows Explorer click on Organize.

  3. From the available menu click on Folder and Search Options.

  4. On Folder Options box make sure that you are on General tab and under Click items as follows section select **Single-click to open an item (point to select)**radio button.

  5. Click on Ok button when done.
