During the installation of Windows 7 on a computer there might be times when administrators may misconfigure something and to rectify the problem they may reinstall the operating system right from scratch. Because of this many times two entries of Windows 7 operating system are written on the bootloader file and whenever a user starts the computer he/she gets the screen displaying two operating systems and is asked to select any one of them. Users in these cases may often select wrong option which results in compelling them to restart the computer. Best solution in this situation is to remove the invalid entry of Windows 7 operating system from the list. This requires elevated privileges and therefore administrator account should be used to log on to complete the process. As a Windows 7 administrator if you want to do so you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with the account that has administrative privileges.

  2. At the bottom of start menu in search box type MSCONFIG command and press enter key.

  3. On System Configuration box go to Boot tab.

  4. From the available list of entries select the invalid one and click on Deletebutton.

  5. Finally click on Ok button to save the changes and when asked click on Restart Now to restart the computer.
