Check if Windows 7 Computer is of 64-bit or 32-bit

Now-a-days when a laptop is purchased from a vendor it is shipped along with Windows 7 operating system installed on it. In 99% cases it is expected that the Windows 7 operating system which is installed on a laptop PC is of 64 bit. In some cases however it can also be of 32-bit which totally depends on the configuration of the laptop. In either case it cannot the expected from any non-technical user that he/she can verify as how many bits of operating system is installed on their laptop PCs. With the help of this section those users can be able to determine whether the operating system is of 64 bit or 32 bit. This verification can be done by just a few mouse clicks and as a Windows 7 user if you want to do so you are required to follow the steps mentioned as below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with any account.

  2. From the start menu right click on Computer and from the available context menu click on Properties.

  3. From the opened window verify the information that is provided in front of System typecategory.

  4. Once confirmed close the opened window.

Note: These steps can also be followed to verify the operating systems on desktop computers and are not limited to laptop PCs only.
