Block Yahoo! Messenger Chat Users in Windows 7

Since Yahoo! Messenger chat application is used by millions of people around the globe and all of them are provided with a common list of chat rooms by the application there might be times when users might not want some specific chat users to contact them anyhow. When this is the case users can configure Yahoo! Messenger to block any chat conversation from those specific IDs by blocking them. Blocking user IDs is a rude step against other users and therefore this feature should be used wisely. It is advisable that this feature should only be used when a chat user is completely irritated and annoyed by any other chat user. If as Yahoo! Messenger user in Windows 7 you want to add any specific user ID to the block list you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Yahoo! Messenger chat application by providing appropriate credentials.

  2. Go to Preferences option by going to Messenger menu.

  3. From the opened box on the left pane click on Ignore List category.

  4. From the right pane choose Ignore only the people below radio button and click on Add button.

  5. On Ignore a User box specify the user ID which you want to block and click on Okbutton to add the ID to the ignore list.

  6. Click on Ok button to save the changes.
