In Microsoft Windows 7 when properties of Computer are displayed the logo of Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEM is displayed. Default configuration displays the logo of the manufacturer of the machine which helps users to identify as which vendor the machine belongs to. In production environments this feature helps a lot to the administrators as they can easily identify and assess which backup image should be used to restore the operating system of which computer. However in home environments where users normally love to play with the operating system this logo can be modified and any other image can be used instead. Modifying OEM logo requires elevated privileges and therefore only users from Administrators group can change the settings. As a Windows 7 administrator in home computers if you want to modify OEM logo in Computer properties box you are required to follow the steps given as below:

1.      Logon to Windows 7 computer with any account that has elevated privileges that is administrator account.

2.      From the start menu click on Computer and go to C:WindowsSystem32OOBEINFO folder.

3.      Here you are required to modify or replace the file with the new one. In case you are replacing the file make sure that the replaced file is of 120x120 height and width and that you rename it with the name of older file.

4.       Once done restart your computer is required.
