Disable Automatic Updates Checks for BitComet in Windows 7

Like all other software applications which are available around the globe BitComet torrent client application also regularly checks for updates automatically according to the default configuration that is set during its installation. According to its default configuration BitComet automatically checks for updates whenever it is initiated by the user. If updates are available users are prompted to download and install them. Since this torrent client application is just for downloading purposes many users use this application very casually and do not care much about the updates and the latest versions of the application. In fact many users get annoyed because of the regular notifications about the updates of BitComet and they might want to disable this feature. As a BitComet user in Windows 7 if you want to disable automatic checking for updates you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer on which BitComet torrent client application is installed and double click on its icon to initiate its interface for configuration.

  2. On the opened window click on Tools menu and from the list click on Options option.

  3. On the opened box click on Service category from the left pane and from the right pane under Software Update category uncheck Check for BitComet updates on startupcheckbox.

  4. Once done click on Ok button to save the changes that you have made.
