Whenever a friend request is received by any Facebook account holder a notification is flashed on his Facebook profile page so that he can take appropriate action about the request. By default an e-mail is also sent to the user’s associated e-mail account notifying him about the request that he has received. Sometimes these associated e-mail addresses may get overpopulated with several notifications of friend requests and users many times never even look at them and delete them in order to make some room for other mails. The notifications which by default are sent to the e-mail addresses do nothing but just increase the overhead of the account holders and they need to go through tedious task of deleting the notification e-mails. In order to avoid this users can disable the notifications which are sent to their e-mail accounts and as a Facebook account holder if you want to do so you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of the page.

  3. Click on Account Settings from the available list.

  4. On the opened page from the left pane click on Notifications.

  5. From the right pane click on Facebook option under All Notifications section.

  6. From the expanded list uncheck the checkbox available in front of Adds you as a friendoption.

  7. Click on Save Changes button to conform the changes that you have made.
