It is commonly seen that most users logon to Yahoo! Messenger and then they continue with their regular works while letting the chat messenger run in the background. Whenever the first message arrives in the IM box the box is popped up in front of the user so that he can be notified about the message. Once the user replies and minimizes the box user is notified about all the other messages by the alert sound which is by default configured in Yahoo! Messenger without popping up the box again. In many cases however users are still not able to notice the incoming messages and therefore the developers of Yahoo! Messenger have integrated buzzing feature in the application so that their attention can be drawn by their friends instantaneously. As default configuration when a user is buzzed his IM box is shaken but remains in the background. This still might not draw attention of the user and therefore the application offers a feature which when enabled brings the IM box in the foreground when the user is buzzed. As Yahoo! Messenger user in Windows 7 if you want to enable this you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Yahoo! Messenger by providing your credentials in the interface of the application.

  2. Click on Messenger menu and then click on Preferences.

  3. From the opened box click on Alerts & Sounds in the left pane.

  4. From the right pane under Alert me when section click on A Messenger contact buzzes me option to select it.

  5. Once selected check Bringing the message window to the foregroundcheckbox.

  6. Click on Ok button to save the changes.
