Disable Yahoo! Messenger WebCam Status Updates in Windows 7

When in Yahoo! Messenger a video call is initiated by a user online status of the user is automatically changed to the predefined text that allows other users to know what the user is doing. However if users want they can maintain their privacy completely by disabling this feature that automatically updates status message. When this feature is disabled and users initiate video calls nobody comes to know about their activities and therefore they can enjoy their calls without getting disturbed and even without getting noticed as well. Configuring this setting requires no technical skills and even standard users can configure Yahoo! Messenger. As Yahoo! Messenger user in Windows 7 if you want to do so you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Start Yahoo! Messenger chat application by double-clicking on its icon and provide appropriate credentials to sign in.

  2. Click on Messenger menu from the available list click on Preferences.

  3. On the opened box go to Privacy category from the left pane.

  4. From the right pane under Change my status automatically when I am section uncheck Showing my webcam and display this messagecheckbox.

  5. Once you are done with the configuration click on OK button to save the changes.
