Whenever a virtual machine is created in VMware workstation one of the major issues that administrators face after the installation is display settings of virtual machines. Although after successful installation of VMware Tools display settings are automatically adjusted to best fit the window however sometimes administrators need to struggle a lot to make the virtual machines’ display settings appropriate as per their individual eases. Also if virtual machines are remote desktoped the console of virtual machines that appear on the remote computers are absolutely fine. In many cases though administrators need to access configure and/or manage virtual machines right from the console of the physical computers on which they are stored. Keeping this in mind VMware workstation offers the feature using which administrators can globally configure the display settings that are implemented for every virtual machine that is created inside VMware workstation. As an administrator of VMware workstation you can do this by following the steps given below:

  1. Open VMware workstation console window and from Edit menu go to Preferences option and click on it.

  2. On the opened box go to Display tab.

  3. From the available checkboxes under Autofit section check the appropriate checkbox(s) as per your requirements. Optionally you can choose appropriate radio buttons under Full screen section to experience best possible display for virtual machine.

  4. Once done click on Ok button to make the settings permanent.
