Uninstall/Modify/Repair a Program in Windows 7

Unlike Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows 2000 operating systems Microsoft Windows 7 now provides feature of uninstalling or modify the programs under Programs and Features section. The entire concept of uninstalling or modifying any application is the same but the location is renamed. Some other major changes that Microsoft has made in this section are that it has provided Uninstall option right at the top of the list so that users can easily use it. Moreover the view of the installed programs is also modified and now it can be viewed even more clearly. When talking about modification of any installed program not every program can be modified and those which can be the process of modification includes clicking of the button and selecting the appropriate option from the available application specific list. Example can be of Microsoft Office package which can be modified to add or remove other features and programs offered by the application. As a Windows 7 administrator if you want to uninstall or modify any program you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with the account that has administrative privileges.

  2. In the start menu click on Control Panel option.

  3. On the opened page click on Uninstall a program link under Programs category.

  4. On the appeared window click on the program that you wish to uninstall and click on Uninstall button. Programs that allow modifications in them will display Changebutton as well when they are clicked in the window.

  5. Choose the appropriate option and follow the instructions to uninstall or modify the application is required.
