I don’t know why, but sometimes I feel like using really basic things to get the job done, and a targeted search engine always comes in handy. Sure, today’s subject may not be as exciting as many other Firefox addons, but small bricks are used to build huge buildings and, if you want to turn your Firefox into the ultimate browsing tool and you’re interested in technology, WikiAndroid is a great addition to your collection of search engines!

Why WikiAndroid? Well, there are two reasons: I got a new Android tablet a few days ago and I really love it, but this is only a minor reason; second, it’s the fact that all the people I talked to lately believe Apple’s iPad will start losing serious chunks of its market share, especially outside the US, thanks to the cheap Android tablets coming from China, some for prices as small as $100. Now, what’s the catch with WikiAndroid?

For now, WikiAndroid is only a small online encyclopedia on Android devices and the Firefox addon here does nothing more but help you find information on various Android devices – obviously (and unfortunately, I must add) only pages located on WikiAndroid.

In case you’re wondering why did I bother with this one, let me tell you just two things: Android will grow more than a lot of people in the industry and outside of it would like and, with a lot of work and a bit of luck, WikiAndroid will follow. When that happens, be sure to remember I told you about them when nobody bothered to do it… 😉
