Although Windows 7 is developed to be used in both production and home environments Administrative Tools is the container which is still not available in the start menu as it is in other network operating systems. From the Microsoft's point of view Administrative Tools container is not required in any client operating system such as Windows Vista and Windows 7 because it is expected that the operating system will be used by end users who are not technically qualified. Moreover Administrative Tools provides a one-shop-stop to customize the administrative settings of the computer and if the users are not experienced enough to work with it they may corrupt the entire operating system. However even if users want to get Administrative Tools in the start menu they can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with the user account on which you want to add Administrative Tools in the start menu.

  2. Right click on the Taskbar and from the menu click on Properties.

  3. On Taskbar and Start Menu Properties box go to Start Menu tab and click on Customize button.

  4. On Customize Start Menu box click on Display on All Programs menu and the Start menu radio button to select it under System administrative toolscategory.

  5. Finally click on Ok button to save the changes you made.
