Automatically Deny Yahoo! Messenger Webcam View Requests in Windows 7

Granularity of the controls in Yahoo! Messenger chat application can be seen by some features which can be configured very minutely. Approval of webcam viewer's in Yahoo! Messenger is a good example in this case. Users can automatically allow all the incoming requests for webcams they can ignore all the requests users can also specify the list of friends which can be allowed to view the webcams without any approval and the best feature which is discussed in this section is that list of friends can be allowed to view the webcam automatically that is without any approval and all other requests can automatically be denied when the application is configured accordingly. As a Yahoo! Messenger user if you want to do so you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Provide appropriate credentials in Yahoo! Messenger application to sign in.

  2. Go to Messenger menu and then click on Preferences option.

  3. From the left pane on the opened box click on Webcam category.

  4. From the right pane under When someone tries to view my webcam section click on Always allow the following people to view my webcam radio button to select it and edit the list of friends accordingly.

  5. Check Ignore other view requestscheckbox to automatically deny all the view requests by the friends which are not mentioned in the list.

  6. Click on Ok button to save the changes that you have made.
