If you are a Facebook user it is quite obvious that you will have several friends added in your friends list. It is also the fact that the more friends you have in your list more are the chances that you will be added to different Groups by your friends. By default Facebook never asks for your permission when a friend of yours adds you in any Group and it is just a notification that is flashed on the main webpage once you are added. Simultaneously an e-mail notification is also sent to the associated e-mail account so that users can be informed about the update even if they are not logged on to Facebook. Under normal circumstances this configuration is not at all harmful however in some cases if users want they can disable the feature of sending e-mail notifications by following the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of the page.

  3. From the available list click on Account Settings.

  4. From the opened page in the left pane click on Notifications and from the right pane under All Notifications category click on Groups.

  5. From the expanded list uncheck the checkbox in front of Adds you to a group option and click on Save Changes button to save the changes.
