Disable Notification for Name Mentioning in Facebook Comments

Facebook offers several mediums using which account holders can communicate with each other and one of the main medium which is mostly used is through Wall Posts. Moreover Facebook allows users to mention the names of the users who are added in their friends list on the wall posts and/or comments which appear as a profile link so that anyone can click on it to view the profile of the mentioned user. Whenever a name of a user is mentioned in a comment mentioned user receives a notification on the Facebook website and simultaneously an e-mail notification is also sent to the e-mail account associated with his Facebook profile. Sometimes these e-mail notifications are not at all required by users and if as a Facebook user you want to disable this you can follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to your Facebook account by providing appropriate credentials.

  2. Click on the triangle available at top right corner of the main page.

  3. From the list click on Account Settings and from the opened page click on Notifications from the left pane.

  4. From the right pane click on Facebook option available under All Notificationscategory.

  5. From the expanded list uncheck the checkbox in front of Mentions you in a comment option and click on Save Changes button to save the changes.
