Prevent Themes from Changing Mouse Pointers in Windows 7

As default nature of Windows 7 operating system whenever a theme is installed it automatically modifies the desktop icons and mouse pointers and cursors in order to provide better look and different ambience to the users. Many users really like to have changed icons and animated cursors and pointers while working on Windows 7 and they enjoy working with them. In some conditions however user may not want to modify their cursors or pointers for various reasons and may want to lookout for a theme that works according to their requirements. Well now users need not to worry about these matters as Windows 7 itself offers a feature in which users can command the themes so that they may not change the cursor or mouse pointers to theme defaults. This feature proves to be quite helpful for almost every user who does not want modifications in the pointers and cursors while applying new themes. As a Windows 7 user if you want to configure this you need to follow the steps given as below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with any account on which you want to configure this and since the configuration is user specific no elevated privileges are required.

  2. Right click anywhere on the desktop and from the available context menu click on Personalize.

  3. From the opened window on the left bar click on Change mouse pointers link.

  4. On Mouse Properties box uncheck Allow themes to change mouse pointerscheckbox.

  5. Finally click on Ok button to save the changes you made and close all the opened Windows and boxes.
