Prevent Windows 7 Asking for Password on Wake Up

With the release of Microsoft Windows 7 as everyone knows security measures are efficiently developed in order to make the operating system almost foolproof as far as hacking or spamming is concerned. Same is the case with password protection while waking the computer up from sleep or standby mode. This is default configuration that prevents any malicious user to take a look at the sensitive information of any other user in case he is not available. This security features is best for production environments and should never be modified under any circumstances. However this feature can be extremely annoying for home users as many of them never like to give passwords to the computers because the find it a hurdle. When this is the case administrators of Windows 7 computers can configure their operating systems so as they may not ask for passwords whenever systems wake up from standby or sleep modes. As a Windows 7 administrator if you want to configure this you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer with administrator account.

  2. At the bottom of start menu in search box type Power Options and press enter key.

  3. On the opened page in the left bar click on Require a password on wakeup link.

  4. On the new page click on Change settings that are currently unavailable link.

  5. From the now enabled options click on Don't require a passwordradio button to select.

  6. Click on Save changes button to save the changes.
