Specify Internet Speed for Windows Media Player in Windows 7

While using the Windows Media Player in Windows 7 it is assumed that users are always connect to the Internet and any updated information that is available for any media file can automatically be downloaded almost instantaneously. As far as internet connection speed is concerned In many cases this configuration is not supposed to be modified as the default settings are perfect however in some cases users may need to manually specify the connection speed of the Internet manually so that they can prevent the misuse of the connection. Windows Media Player offers promising controls using which users can limit the speed of the Internet connection as per the requirements. As a Windows 7 user if you want to do so you can follow the steps provided below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer.

  2. Click on the icon of Windows Media Player that is available in the taskbar to initiate the application.

  3. On the interface click on Organize menu and from the available list click on Options option.

  4. On the opened box go to Performance tab.

  5. Under Connection speed section select Choose connection speedradio button and from the enabled drop-down list choose the appropriate connection speed.

  6. Click on Ok button once you are convinced with the configurations that you have made.
