Switch User is a feature that was introduced with the release of Microsoft Windows XP for the very first time. This feature is now carried forward to almost every operating system that is released by Microsoft. This feature allows users to stay logged on to one user and still allow users log on to other accounts on the same PC in case any urgency occurs. Whenever a user switches from one account to another without logging off all the applications are left intact so that users can use them whenever he logs back in. The best example for this can be that when a user plays any music file in Windows Media Player and then switches to another user account without logging of from the current one he can notice that media file keeps on running in the background while the user can still work on the other account. In many cases this configuration is quite fine however if users want they can disable the playing of media file while user switches to another account. As a Windows 7 user if you want to do so you are required to follow the steps given below:

  1. Logon to Windows 7 computer.

  2. Open Windows Media Player.

  3. From the interface click on Organize menu.

  4. From the available list click on Options and from the opened box go to Player tab.

  5. Under Player settings section check Stop playback when switching to a different user checkbox and finally click on Ok button to save the changes.
